Note: All of the producers listed use no animal by-products, growth stimulants, hormones, or antibiotics. None of these animals are raised in confinement facilities.

Caveny Farm raises limited quantities of lamb sold in whole units. The farm also produces pastured beef. Order beef in September. Deposit is due at ordering: $650 for a whole, $325 for a half. Contact the farm for availability and current pricing.

The Moores sell cuts of pastured pork (combination grass and grain fed) from their heritage breed Tamworth herd; as well as all grass fed dairy beef (Jersey and Jersey cross), all grass fed lamb (Katahdin breed), and all grass-fed goat (Nubian breed). Special pricing is available for whole and half hogs. Contact the farm for availability, especially for all grass-fed meats as these are only available seasonally. Due to demand, beef quarters and halves are not available. The Moores sell a variety of packaged cuts, smoked and cured meats, and sausages at their stand at the Urbana Farmer's Market from May through November and at the farm year-round. Call for directions, to check availability, and/or to get placed on the farm's mailing list for ordering.

The Hesterbergs produce non-confined pork and pastured Murray Grey beef on their farm northeast of Urbana. Call to place an order or request an order form. Pork will be ready from August through October in whole and half hog units. Beef will be available in June and November in whole, half, and quarter units. However, you can pick up sausage or ground beef year-round at the farm. Call for details and directions.

Schutte and his son, Ryan, raise pastured beef, pork, and lamb with no antibiotics, hormones, or GMO grain. You can purchase meat from their stand at the Urbana Farmer's Market or through area buying clubs.

The farmers of Whispering Pines, Armin Hesterberg, his family, and neighbors, use a combination of grass and grain to raise ultra lean Belgian Blue beef near Gifford. Their beef is available in retail cuts or quarters through Whispering Pine's shop on Route 136 in Gifford (20 minutes northeast of Urbana). Store hours are Wednesday and Friday 9 am to 5 pm, Saturday 9 am to 1 pm, or by appointment by calling 369-5976.
